The Honeywell LYNXTOUCH-MSD is the firmware updater tool for the LYNX Touch L5200, L5210 and L7000 Systems. By using this convenient device, you can quickly update the firmware version for your LYNX Touch System. This is necessary for getting your L5210 or L7000 working with an LTE communicator.
There are two LTE communicators available for the L5210 and L7000. The first is the LTE-L57A, which connects with the AT&T LTE Network. In order to use this communicator the panel must be on revision 9.00.209 or higher. The other is the LTE-L57V, which connects with the Verizon LTE Network. In order to use this communicator the panel must be on revision 9.00.201 or higher. Getting your system connected with an LTE network is important for ensuring that your system experiences the fastest and most reliable communication possible. It will also “future-proof” your system, as the LTE networks are expected to be kept in service for many years to come.
Although it was previously possible to push down a firmware update to an L5210 or L7000 over-the-air (OTA), this is no longer the case. Instead, this firmware updater tool is required for anyone who wants to provide a firmware update for their L5210 or L7000 System. The updater tool is easy to use, though it will require that the user accesses the back of their panel to make some hardware configuration changes. Additionally, upgrading to a higher firmware version may unlock new features and functions for your panel as they become available. Updating the firmware can also be necessary for fixing various bugs and problems so that your system functions as reliably as possible. Finally, the newest version of the L5100-WIFI with the MAC prefix B8:2C:A0 requires that the LYNX Touch System is running Firmware Version 8.00.183 or higher.
