Motion sensors are electronic devices used to detect nearby people or objects. When these devices pick up motion they send an alert to the security system.
Types of Motion sensors include:
Passive Infrared- detect body heat or infrared energy by looking for changes in temperatures.
Microwave – sends out microwave pulses and measures their reflections off moving objects.
Dual technology- Combine multiple motion sensing technology to reduce false alarms.
Many motion sensor also come in pet immune options which ignore pets up to a certain weight. This allows your system to be armed when your pet is home alone.
