Silent Knight SK-FML Fiber Card, Multi Mode Module

The Honeywell SK-FML (Fiber-Optic Multi-Mode)  is a plug-in fiber loop module. The module works as one channel to transmit or receive communications with the Honeywell Silent Knight SK-NIC (Network Interface Card) ARCNET communication circuit. The SK-FML module allows multimode fiber to connect network nodes. It features ST-style connectors with a maximum attenuation of 8db with 62.5/125 micrometer cable. Each fiber loop module can Transmit (TX) or Receive (RX) fiber-optic cable connecting to the SK-NIC. Up to two fiber loop cards can be added to the SK-NIC, and both cards may be combined in the same configuration. Use this module with the SK-NIC to create a common communications and annunciation link on a fiber-optic network of up to 17 panels.

A designated panel is configured as the communicator for all panels in the link for convenient single-point communications. Note that the panels can also be connected in this way using copper wire. Compatible panels include the Silent Knight 6000 Series 6820 and 6820EVS FACPs. These two panels are capable of providing up to 1,110 points using SK Protocol. In addition to the built-in Signaling Line Circuit (SLC) in each panel, additional SLCs can be added until maximum point levels are reached. This connected system can be enhanced by adding modules such as the 6860 remote annunciator with a large 160 character, 4 x 40 display and four programmable function buttons designed to help automate tasks and reduce time spent at the panel.
