Fire detection devices are used to pick up early warning signs of a fire. The devices include heat detectors, Ionization smoke detectors, photoelectric smoke detectors and combination detectors.
Heat detectors- alert of a rise in room temperature.
Ionization smoke detectors- activate when there is smoke present in the air. When smoke enters the chamber and disrupts the electric current the detector will sound.
Photoelectric smoke detectors – best for detecting small fires these units use a beam of light to detect smoke. When smoke enters the chamber and disrupts the light beam an alarm will sound.
Combination detectors- These detectors use several elements to detect fires and sound an alarm.
