Class K (Kitchen)

The most effective fire extinguisher for kitchen hazards class k fire extinguishers use wet chemical agents with greater cooling effects than other fire extinguishers.

Typically used in commercial kitchens Class K extinguishers are especially  effective against flammable liquids such as cooking oils and greases. These fires typically burn at a higher  temperature than liquids such as petroleum and gas making class B extinguishers inefficient in handling them.
